Terms of Service

Last updated: May 17, 2026

Welcome to SEOMedic. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the SEOMedic website at https://getseomedic.com, the SEOMedic WordPress plugin (free and Pro versions), and the supporting OAuth proxy at seomedic-auth.vercel.app (together, the "Service"), operated by Andrew Murray ("we", "us", "SEOMedic").

By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms work alongside our Privacy Policy, Disclaimer, and (where applicable) Affiliate Program Terms.

1. About the Service

SEOMedic is a WordPress plugin and supporting infrastructure that helps site owners audit links, manage SEO metadata, sync data from Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, and generate AI-assisted meta descriptions and titles.

  • Free version — distributed via WordPress.org under the GPL v2 or later licence
  • Pro version — distributed via Freemius, under a commercial licence
  • OAuth proxy — a small stateless service at seomedic-auth.vercel.app used to complete the Google OAuth handshake for Search Console connections
  • Marketing website — getseomedic.com, where the product is presented, sold, and supported

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and legally capable of entering into a binding contract to use the Service. By using the Service you confirm you meet these requirements.

If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

3. Accounts and licences

  • You don't need an account to download or use the free version.
  • The Pro version requires a valid Freemius licence. Pricing, billing, refunds, licence transfers, and renewals are handled by Freemius under Freemius's own terms. Freemius is the merchant of record for Pro purchases.
  • You're responsible for keeping any login credentials, API keys, or licence keys secure. Don't share them.

4. Your responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information when connecting third-party services (API keys, OAuth consents, billing details)
  • Use the Service only on WordPress sites you own or are authorised to administer
  • Comply with the terms of every third-party service the plugin integrates with (Google, Bing, Keywords Everywhere, Anthropic, Freemius, Vercel, PayPal)
  • Comply with all applicable laws — including data protection (GDPR, CCPA, UK GDPR), consumer protection, and advertising/disclosure regulations
  • Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code beyond what is publicly available under the GPL v2 licence (the plugin) or the licence of the OAuth proxy repo
  • Not use the Service to violate any law, infringe any third-party right, host or distribute malware, or harm others
  • Not abuse the OAuth proxy with automated traffic, denial-of-service attempts, or anything outside its intended OAuth-handshake use

5. Acceptable use of the website

The marketing site at getseomedic.com is provided for informational, commercial, and support purposes. You may not:

  • Scrape, mirror, or republish substantial portions of the site without written permission
  • Frame or embed the site in a way that misrepresents its origin
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or its underlying infrastructure
  • Submit forms with false information or use the site to send spam

6. Intellectual property

All content on getseomedic.com — copy, design, logos, illustrations, demo videos, screenshots, and documentation — is © Andrew Murray unless otherwise marked.

  • SEOMedic plugin source code (free version) is licensed under the GNU General Public License v2 or later. You may use, modify, and redistribute it under that licence.
  • SEOMedic plugin source code (Pro version) is also GPL v2+, but use of the compiled distribution is gated by a valid Freemius licence per Section 3.
  • The "SEOMedic" name and logo are trademarks of Andrew Murray. You may use them for honest review or comparison ("nominative fair use") and per any explicit affiliate or partner terms. You may not use them to suggest official endorsement, register confusingly similar domains/handles, or modify the logo.
  • Third-party trademarks mentioned on the site (Yoast, Rank Math, Google, Bing, Anthropic, etc.) are the property of their respective owners and are used here for descriptive/comparative purposes only. SEOMedic is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of these companies unless explicitly stated.

7. Third-party services

The plugin and website integrate with a number of third-party services. We don't control those services and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, pricing, or terms. Your use of those integrations is governed by their respective terms:

If any third-party service changes, restricts, or removes access in a way that affects SEOMedic features, we'll do our best to adapt but make no guarantee of continued compatibility.

8. Payments, refunds, and renewals

  • All Pro purchases are processed by Freemius. Freemius's refund policy applies.
  • We honour Freemius's standard 14-day refund window for new purchases. Edge cases (renewals, lifetime deals, upgrades) follow Freemius policy.
  • Pro licences auto-renew per the billing cycle you select, until cancelled.
  • You can cancel auto-renewal at any time from your Freemius account dashboard.
  • We're not responsible for currency-conversion fees, foreign-transaction fees, taxes, or other charges added by your payment method or bank.

9. Beta features and changes to the Service

Some features may be labelled "beta", "experimental", or "early access". These may change or be removed without notice and are provided without warranty.

We may at any time and without notice: add or remove features, change pricing for new purchases (existing Pro licences retain their pricing through their current renewal cycle), modify the design of the website, change the underlying infrastructure (hosting, OAuth proxy, etc.). Material changes to paid features will be announced via the plugin's update notes and the marketing site changelog.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

See the dedicated Disclaimer page for the full set of disclaimers around SEO performance, AI output accuracy, third-party data, and professional advice.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, RANKINGS, TRAFFIC, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY — ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to:

  • Pro users: the amount you paid us for the Pro licence in the 12 months preceding the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater.
  • Free users: USD $0.

Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations on certain damages, so the limits above may not apply to you. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party right (IP, privacy, advertising rules, etc.)
  • Content, data, or instructions you submit through the Service

13. Termination

  • You may stop using the Service at any time by deactivating and uninstalling the plugin, closing your Freemius account, and ceasing use of the website.
  • We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service (including the Pro version and the OAuth proxy) at any time, with or without notice, for any reason — including violation of these Terms, abuse of infrastructure, or fraud. Where practical we'll give reasonable notice.
  • On termination: Sections 6 (IP), 10 (Disclaimers), 11 (Liability), 12 (Indemnification), and 15 (Governing law) survive.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via the plugin update changelog and the website footer, and will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Andrew Murray's country of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

If you're a consumer in a jurisdiction with mandatory consumer-protection laws (e.g. EU, UK, Australia), nothing in these Terms overrides those rights.

16. Miscellaneous

  • Entire agreement: these Terms (together with the Privacy Policy, Disclaimer, and Affiliate Terms where applicable) are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
  • Severability: if any part of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
  • No waiver: failure to enforce any part of these Terms isn't a waiver of our right to do so later.
  • Assignment: you may not assign your rights under these Terms without our written consent. We may assign ours (e.g. in a sale of the business) with notice.
